Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedy deleted because it one of many similarly named disambiguation pages that have long been extant. The user that tagged this dab page duplicated its contents at U-70 with the addition of one other, non-German submarine article. Suggest that this be reviewed with WP:SHIPS and WP:MILHIST (as this page is a part of those two projects) before any rash decision is made. --72.181.4.105 (talk) 21:39, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
- This was proposed for speedy deletion (after three years!) and was “boldly redirected” as a result.
- I’ve boldly restored it; this is a set index page for a group of ships, not a dab page. As such it matches a couple of hundred others on german submarines, and considerably more on ships in general (see Whirlwind (disambiguation) and HMS Whirlwind for comparison.
- This came about through an editor wishing to make a dab page after having written an article with U-70 in the title; I’ve opened U-70 as a dab page to fix the ambiguity of that. Xyl 54 (talk) 23:02, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
