Consensus
[edit]This article is called 'German submarine U-1308, so the material in the intro, (para 3); about the 'GHG', (para 2 of the 'Sonar' section); the 'Passive sonar' section (para 1, last sentence) and the 'Alberich' (paras 2, 3 and 4 of the 'Anti-sonar coating' section); is mostly irrelevant to this boat and probably should be moved to other, more appropriate articles.
Before I swing the axe, a bit of consensus might be a good thing.
There is a lot of white space opposite the illustrations which is filled when the reader comes to the 'Anti-sonar coating' section.
What do other editors think?

I think it’s a great idea, I say go for it.
Would you start a new article for each of the U-boat technologies (e.g. Alberich, Balkongerät, Schnorchel etc...) similar to Thetis?

For the moment I'll concentrate on this article, (U-1308), as there is quite a lot to do. Articles Alberich (with a modern picture) and Schnorchel already exist. Balkongerät would have to be started from scratch and since I know diddly-squat about it, I'll let you take the lead. (I'll copy this entry to your talk page).

Poorly written section
[edit]This part of the article:
U-1308 would have been mounted with a single 3.7 cm Flakzwilling M43U gun on the rare LM 43U mount. The LM 43U mount was the final design of mount used on U-boats and is only known to be installed on U-boats (U-249, U-826, U-977, U-1023, U-1171, U-1305 and U-1306). The 3.7 cm Flak M42U was the marine version of the 3.7 cm Flak used by the Kriegsmarine on Type VII and Type IX U-boats.
is poorly written. NotYourFathersOldsmobile (talk) 06:11, 5 February 2016 (UTC)
