'History' sections
[edit]We don't have them in film articles. Also please note that all articles must roughly, at least, conform with the manual of style for film articles and other policies. Coretheapple (talk) 19:10, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
Also I'm not entirely sure about the extent we can use Night Will Fall as a source, as I see references from that are being added. I am checking on that. Coretheapple (talk) 19:15, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
"documentary film"?
[edit]Since it was made under instruction from the psychological warfare department, it's pretty clear that it is a propaganda movie. --154.69.55.111 (talk) 16:29, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- "Documentary film" is consistent with the sources, "propaganda," not. 18:35, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
- Happy 1. April then. The article says itself "psychological warfare". Documentary is something else. --41.150.171.134 (talk) 20:57, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
- They worked for the propaganda department, which does not mean that everything they made was automatically propaganda.
- It seems that Hitchcock's advises can be summarized as: make it less propaganda-like by not using the usual propaganda film techniques.
- I have only seen Night will fall and not the full original film, but anyway the footage speaks for itself; the voice-over did not have to be very propagandic to get the point. The largest shock I had was when I thought, 'that prisoner is smiling because he has been liberated', and at the next moment they zoomed in at him and I realized that he was dead, it was a grimace.
