The article is very bare and makes no mention of why they're important. It currently says that they've designed a bunch of boats and gives a list of who-for, without any context provided for why this is meaningful. More to the point, the article doesn't say anything meaningful or informative about them beyond what would be expected from a directory listing, and Wikipedia isn't a directory of anything. The article needs expansion, and if that's not possible, an AfD will be in order. — Saxifrage✎17:25, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest that we see what is determined at Nelson - Marek. If that fails to pass the notability test, then we should look at alternative ways to display information on yacht design firms. However, if N-M is deemed noatble, Frers can be easilly documented past that level as there are many more sources of information on this firm. Kevin Murray01:40, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Articles are independent and must stand on their own two feet. If documentation is available, include it in the article. The result of the other article's deletion debate doesn't effect this article. — Saxifrage✎00:43, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There is, to me, something significantly misleading about this page even if, as I am sure, that was not intended. A reader new to the article would get the impression that the first year in which a yacht was designed by a naval architect (or other clasification of yacht designer) with the name 'German Frers' was in 1958. I am, more or less, sure that this is not so. There was an established firm of yacht designers, with the name 'German Frers', in Argentina well before that year. It would seem to me that the article should make this clear at some point. Clrfr-2 (talk) 05:25, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
