Deletion
[edit]I propose this not be deleted. The project is very important, please help edit the article instead of deleting it. The Houston Chronicle does not have much history info, and I haven't had time to research the website. JuWiki 02:19, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
On the contrary, I believe this should be enshrined in Wikipedia for all posterity, so future generations of liberal idiots everywhere can read and learn. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.182.130.66 (talk) 08:58, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Disputed
[edit]I have entered this article with a fact-dispute template. A few months ago I researched this story and it was clear to me that the press reports were very poorly researched and fed mostly from the press release. The "banana" can't be geostationary either since there are air currents throughout the atmosphere. Also the street address to the project is an art gallery in Montreal; hardly a place to get any serious scientific funding. From what I can tell this is little more than an ingenious artistic concept. It is noteworthy though and should remain in Wikipedia, but portraying the art for what it is rather than perpetuating a dubious hoax. -71.51.51.120 20:50, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- The project doesn't claim to be science, I'm not sure why it would look for serious scientific funding, or how that relates to whether or not they will actually attempt it. (Which doesn't necesarrily mean it's NOT a hoax either, I just don't see how it provides useful information either way) 91.84.38.65 (talk) 14:35, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
On the contrary, it will be kept geostationary with the use of wind-powered gyroscopes. The project has since been updated, and fabrication is to begin soon. 24.189.38.116 (talk) 22:22, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- How's that fabrication coming along? -70.233.159.53 (talk) 14:57, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
