I added a quote by South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier where he states his belief that this is a rivalry. Also added Game Results Table Maddogxlt (talk) 13:32, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notable performances

[edit]

I'd like to suggest that top performances by particular players in this rivalry be added as a new section. It'd highlight the best moments for each team, add some depth to the content of this rivalry's page, and wouldn't be the toughest thing to do. Thoughts? It's worth doing and there certainly have been some notable performances by individual players over the years. But it sure is a subjective subject and is probably in need of some strict guidelines in advance, agreed? If so, what shall they be? Are we talking simply record performances in the series, key plays in a particular game, game changing plays? What? It's gonna be tough to narrow-down friend but let's give it a try if you want. Great point - I know fans of both teams (I'm a Tennessee fan...so...yeah, when I'm not busy missing 1998-2004, I can look at this sort of thing) may have a different viewpoint. I think taking two of those you mentioned - record performances, and key plays (something clear-cut, such as Mike Davis getting stuffed at the 1 this season) could work. Your thoughts? I've had this article on my "back burner" for a long time... it needs significant work in general. The notable games section, in particular, needs to be pared down. I would argue that notable performances by individual players are part of what contributes to notable games. The notable games section should not include recent games just because they're recent, but it should include games that had particularly notable situations and/or particularly notable performances by certain players. (And, to be honest, there aren't that many games that probably really qualify for "notable" status. The 1980 game between two future Heisman winners certainly qualifies, and maybe the upset in 2000 and the 2002 game because of the David Pollack fumble-ception, but that's about it.) -Jhortman (talk) 16:35, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe a new section entitled something akin to "Highlights" where some of the most thrilling plays/outcomes happened? That could present itself as a bit more broad in scope.GRUcrule (talk) 21:03, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
