Father described as English military officer?
[edit]Hadn't heard that George Vaughan's father William Vaughan was an English military officer. Jere R. Daniell in his book Colonial New Hampshire - A history says William Vaughan (d.1719) came to New Hampshire as a representative of a London firm, and married Richard Cutt's daughter and stayed. John Wentworth (Illinois) outlines the Vaughan family on pp. 296-7 of his Wentworth Genealogy. Perhaps a previous contributor is confusing William Vaughan, father of George, with Lieut. Col. William Vaughan (1703 - 1746), George's son who was an early proponent and participant in the 1745 English and New England campaign against the French fortress of Louisbourg?RWIR (talk) 20:18, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
