[edit]Does the Russian Academy of Sciences American Branch exist anywhere outside of Chilingar's imagination?
- First, it's the "Russian Academy of Natural Sciences." Second, the RNAS doesn't even have a web page that I've found. Third, the RNAS gives out awards --always with a different name--to geologists who have some connection to the petroleum industry. So it exists, but could be some sort of vanity organization or something? I don't see how it's important to this page.OutofControlTheory (talk) 15:09, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- I don't know much about it, but a few authors have listed official affiliations with it in peer reviewed publications (DOI: 10.1007/s00254-008-1615-3). That would suggest it does exist outside of his imagination. The extent of this organization I'm not sure of. Might just be a loose organization of collaborating scientists funded by the Academy.
