- Lady Carolyn Elizabeth Ann Townshend (resumed her maiden name)(b. 27 September 1940), married first, in 1962 (divorced 1971), Antonio Capellini and had issue
- Vincenzo Charles Capellini Townshend (b 1963) who married, in 1994, Rachael daughter of Mark Daniels and has issue living:
- Luca (b 1995),
- Sofia (b 1996), and
- Luisa Carolyn (b 1998).

She married secondly, in 1973 (annulled 1974) Edgar Bronfman, Sr (b. 1929), a Canadian businessman.

- Francis James Patrick Bradford (b 1963) (for whom Princess Benedikte of Denmark stood sponsor).
Lady Carolyn Townshend married secondly, in 1978 (divorced 1984), James Barry Morrisey. She married thirdly, in 1991, Christian Marc Boegnor.
Children of the late Marquess by his second marriage:
- Lord John Townshend, second in succession (b. 17 June 1962), married first, in September 1987 (divorced 1991), Rachel Lucy Chapple, daughter of Field Marshal Sir John Lyon Chapple, GCB, KBE, with apparently no issue. He married secondly, in 1999, Helen M Burt née Chin, and has issue
- George (b. 2003), third in succession, and
- Isobel (b. 2001).
- Lady Katherine Ann Bayley (b. 29 September 1963), married first, in 1991 (divorced 2000), Piers W. Dent, and had issue
- Lucia (b,1992), and
- Mollie (b. 1995).
She married secondly Dr Guy Langford Bayley, and has issue
- Inca Nell (b. 2001), and
- Skye (b. 2002).
Guy Langford Bayley was educated at Eton College. He was Managing Director of Raynham Workshops Ltd (1986–94), and Chairman of Pera International (1988–96). He also served as a General Commissioner of Income Tax in Norwich (1989–97).
