[edit]This article is going to be one of a series of biographies of notable graduates from George Washington University that I intend to develop over the next couple months.
I am somewhat new to the etiquette of Wikipedia. Should I establish some sort of stub article notation for these biographies so that they will not be deleted before I can complete the project? Mjhowell (talk) 05:59, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
The first sentence of this article says:
-
- In the late 1800s, George Roscoe Davis moved from Maine to Washington, DC to attend classes at Columbian University (later renamed George Washington University) where in 1894 he became a charter member of the Columbian University chapter of Theta Delta Chi.
That is an absolutely wrong way to start a Wikipedia article. After reading this sentence, we don't know whether he is notable as
- a politician, or
- a scientist, or
- a theologian, or
- a football player, or
- a novelist, or
- a serial murderer, or
- an entertainer, or
- an engineer, or
- the winner of a pie-eating contest,
