"Dream Away" was a single
[edit]Although it was never released as a single in the North American or European markets, "Dream Away" was in fact released as a single in Japan (with "Unknown Delight" as the B-side). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dbone828 (talk • contribs) 07:20, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
"Shanghai Surprise" was released as a promo single
[edit]According to the liner notes of the 2004 remastered version of George Harrison's Cloud Nine album, which included "Shanghai Surprise" as a bonus track, "The soundtrack for 'Shanghai Surprise' was never released as a record/CD and was only briefly available as a promo single." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dbone828 (talk • contribs) 15:28, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Chart Positions
[edit]Ding Dong, Ding Dong hit #36 on the U.S. Hot 100. Your Wikipedia for the song even states such.
Teardrops hit #102, bubbling under the U.S. Hot 100. The same. Your Wikipedia entry for it states so.
As a huge Beatles fan who keeps track of such things, I can verify those chart positions.

Traveling Wilburys Collection
[edit]The Traveling Wilburys Collection was released in 2007 and reached #9 in the Top 200. You should add that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.193.141.173 (talk) 13:47, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Lead
[edit]Hello,
recently User:JG66 has rewritten the lead, now including some unneeded facts. It is overall too long, and I understand that JG wants to help, but I found the previous lead better [1]. I suggest reverting to the previous version with the neat summary. Regards.--Tomcat (7) 13:31, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- Do what you want, Tomcat7 (you asked for my help, I thought). Your previous version didn't even begin to discuss George Harrison's discography – the subject of this list – until halfway through the introductory text. So I've tried to come up with something that is purely about his solo discography, with brief mentions of artists that are then included in the See Also section (Ringo Starr and the Wilburys). You go ahead and revert if you want, but that lead of yours didn't do much good at the last FLC, did it? JG66 (talk) 15:23, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- It seems like you were offended by my comment, but I merely noted that the lead is too large. --Tomcat (7) 17:26, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- More confused than offended, Tomcat. I outlined some proposed changes on your talk page on 14 January and again on 30 January; as you've since acknowledged, you missed the last of those messages due to other talk traffic, but still, I've never received a direct reply to any of my suggestions. Confusing. And come on, you didn't merely note that the new lead is too large; you suggested above "reverting to the previous version with the neat summary" and added the banner at the start of the article. All this without doing what's surely the most obvious thing – contacting the editor in question. No hard feelings, but don't let's rewrite history. Of course, you or anyone else should feel free to cut down that new text (in fact, I remember raising it with you back in September or around then, asking why you needed to include this level of introductory discussion at all, since other artists' discographies don't; no reply to that, either). I've cut down the text even more since yesterday, and at a guess, I'd say it's shorter now than the pre-31 Jan version. And it's all relevant to the subject of the list, with no mention of Harrison's teenage skiffle bands, introduction to sitar via David Crosby or late-period Beatles songwriting milestones. Cheers, JG66 (talk) 05:38, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Harrison discog/template query regarding "studio" albums
[edit]Hi. I've started a discussion over at Talk:George – all are welcome. It really boils down to whether we should say at the start of a Harrison album article that Living in the Material World (for example) was Harrison's "second studio album" (because Wonderwall Music is classed as a "soundtrack album" and Electronic Sound an "experimental album", so removing them from the ranks of his "studio albums"); or whether we avoid what is a potentially confusing situation for readers, imo, and refer to Material World as Harrison's "fourth solo album", disregarding the categories that are applied in a discography or template. See you there … JG66 (talk) 23:03, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
The Apple Years Box Set
[edit]The Apple Years, 1968-1975, entered Billboard's Top 200 at #167 on October 11, 2014. You might want to add its chart position and track its peak. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.36.143.72 (talk) 16:35, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
