POV
[edit]"The prospects for 2006 look great." Sounds a bit out of place in Wikipedia. MKV 00:19, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Source and Copyright
[edit]Except for the first paragraph of the article, the text was apparently copied from Duke's official biography page at http://georgeduke.com/biography.html Furthermore, the category entries were removed in the process. Should the article be reverted to the 16:19, 2 July 2006 version? -- Kthomsen 00:01, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Acting?
[edit]Didn't George act on a drama series that was aired on BET? Why no mention? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.88.30.235 (talk) 15:36, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
How to add to a discography
[edit]When you add the name of a song, it gets quote marks, like "this". See? But when you add names of albums (doesn't matter if on a LP or CD) the names have two marks like this. You do NOT put the name of songs or albums like "this" unless it's a very strange case! Please take note of that. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 02:34, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Importance of Frank Zappa for Duke's notoriety.
[edit]It seems to this George Duke enthusiast that his long period playing as part of Frank Zappa's band (1972 through 1978) clearly put his keyboard and musical presence firmly on to the attention of the music industry. I feel this point is slighted in the Wikipedia article. He was prominent on four album, three of which were Frank's most popular albums such as 1973's Overnight Sensation, 1974's Apostrophe', and 1975's One Size Fits All. These prior three albums can be shown to be Zappa's most popular via Billboard Charts. It is many musicians opinion that George did outstanding work on 1978's Studio Tan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beadbud5000 (talk • contribs) 04:48, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
- Where did you get this information? Is this your opinion? Wikipedia is more interested in facts.
Vmavanti (talk) 20:05, 2 December 2018 (UTC) - Chart placement is only one portion of what might be "most popular" - an album may hit #12, say, initially, but then very rapidly fall off that mark, and be outsold greatly by an album that sits around the top 80 or so for decades, like Pink Floyd's DSOTM did ... which was "more popular"? Those are among FZ's best, for sure. He had higher-selling records, though - like "Ship ...", for instance. On the other hand, among his more hard-core fans, there is no denying that those DiscReet records are far more impressive to them than the "Valley Girl" hit-LP is/was.50.111.36.238 (talk) 03:14, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

Where is Miles?
[edit]One could be fairly surprised that the name of Miles Davis, with whom George Duke performed both live (Montreux) and in studio (Tutu), is missing completely from this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bruce Polo (talk • contribs) 22:54, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
