Filmography

[edit]

Major changes require consensus. Lead contains duplication from main article and is written as such that it will require regular updating, or will easily and quickly fall behind. Additional info for tables should be added to existing tables. Changes to "Television" table made it virtually unreadable. Unnecessary and needless mark-up should be avoided. Further major revisions should de discussed here, first. - thewolfchild 18:15, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the lead contains duplication from the main article which is not needed. It was trimmed down to one sentence, similar to Elizabeth_Taylor_filmography, Steven Spielberg filmography, Frank Sinatra filmography and Sean Connery filmography. But an editor restored the 400-word lead even though it mostly repeats in prose the same film names and dates which follow it. It should therefore be trimmed down unless there is some valid reason for keeping it. --Light show (talk) 08:13, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, because the idiotic one-line lede is a format now eschewed. A 30-second glance at any of the lists with a decent mark of quality (Wikipedia:Featured lists#Filmographies) shows how poor it was to remove it in toto. Yes, it's not te best lede we have, but it's a damned sight beter than telling people the blindingly obvious. - SchroCat (talk) 08:22, 1 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
