[edit]This page includes some extraneous information, and could do with more details on the geology side, and also a couple of pictures. GB 10:32, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'll do some work on it. Pterre (talk) 12:58, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Highest village
[edit]I'm not sure why we need the highest village in the county in this article. However, if we must, then we need a source that supports whichever village is in the article - for what it's worth, it's clear to me that Ashmansworth is considerably higher than Bentworth from looking on Google Earth, but a suitable reference is what we need. - I've found such a reference and added it to the Ashmansworth page. I've decided to be bold and just remove the sentence anyway - it can always be added back referring to Ashmansworth, supported by that ref, if others think that it's worth including. Mikenorton (talk) 22:01, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
Superfluous material
[edit]I have removed this text from the article as it has no bearing on the geology:
The New Forest has a mosaic of heathland, grassland, coniferous and deciduous woodland habitats that host diverse wildlife. The forest is protected as a national park, limiting development and agricultural use to protect the landscape and wildlife. Large areas of the New Forest are open common lands kept as a grassland plagioclimax by grazing animals, which include many domesticated farm animals, such as cattle, pigs and horses, which are not segregated in fields. Several species of deer and other wild animals also graze the forest.
I hope to flesh out the geological content at some point! cheers Geopersona (talk) 18:29, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
