Climate & "chronozones"

[edit]

These chronozones, often liked to be cited by geologists, in fact have much lesser impact on the economy than assumed by these beginners. Moreover, the borders or transitions are very, very weakly defined respectively measurable. HJJHolm (talk) 13:46, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The reason the climate is mentioned is due to the fact that it actually had a very profound impact on the economy and culture of the Cucuteni-Trypillian society. These people lived during the Holocene Climatic Optimum, which allowed them to practice agriculture during the best period of time for growing crops that Europe experienced since the end of the last ice age. Their society ended roughly with the advent of the shift in climate that devastated Europe and much of the rest of the world. Perhaps the chronozone map is uneccessary, though. I'd say that I'd have no compunctions to having it removed. --Saukkomies talk 17:59, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
