[edit]what are crystals?
Oh, they're baby koalas. Dobe 75.26.204.27 01:10, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
What? ~Kristin 4/1/12 5:32pm
Can they be used in any other use besides sculpturing? (sorry for the spelling) -student_school09- 14:26, 11 August 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Student school09 (talk • contribs)
What are you talking about? ~Kristin 4/1/12 5:33pm
Crystals are minerals often fond in rocks and geodes. They are made up of atoms, molecules, and irons. The word crystal is derived from the Ancient Greek word kpuotallos (krustallos), meaning both "ice" and "rock crystal", from kpuos (kruos),"icy cold, frost". ~Kristin 4/1/12 5:26pm

Picture of geodes at outcrop
[edit]It's not clear to me that this picture actually shows any geodes, there appears to be a folded and boudinaged competent layer, but nothing that looks like a geode in my opinion, any other views? Mikenorton (talk) 16:04, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
- OK after a bit of research, the folding is due to slumping in the Fort Payne Formation and the sequence is well known for its geodes, but I still can't identify any on the picture, so I'll remove it, unless there are objections. Mikenorton (talk) 15:45, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Were are the pictures? ~Kristin 4/1/12 5:34
What gas is in them?
[edit]What gas is found inside geodes before they're opened? Or does it vary? Please add! -- 77.187.41.231 (talk) 15:16, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
Crystal caves
[edit]With several crystal caves being discovered, are these all geodes? The one in Mexico [1] Cave of the Crystals seems much larger than the one in Spain or USA, if it is also a geode. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 22:32, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
Vugs, not geodes
[edit]Both examples of purported geodes found in Spain and Ohio in all probability speak about vugs, not geodes - Crystal Cave (Ohio) is specifically named as such in the relevant Wikipedia article, and the Almeria structure is described precisely as a vug in the source article. Vote to remove all mention of Crystal Cave and Almeria Gypsum Cave. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.27.249.147 (talk • contribs) 08:04, 23 January 2015
Rewriting the Introduction
[edit]It's trash. I'm gonna rewrite it, and then people can comment here telling me why I am such a moron because I misinterpreted the volcanic deposition mechanism, or whatever. --WhittleMario (talk) 17:58, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
