The plant did not close in 1979. I worked there in 1980 in the Aircraft Engine Group (AEG) as a temporary employee (Manpower). I was there in the factory the day John Lennon died (December 8, 1980) and remember that day vividly. The factory closed sometime in the early 80's I believe, but certainly not in 1979. David R.
