"[sic]" next to vowels

User:Kwamikagami and User:Alexlatham96: I was curious as to why you added "[sic]" next to the vowels ɨ, ʉ, ɤ and ɑ in the Cameroonian vowels table. How is that helpful? --Moyogo/ (talk) 16:01, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My [sic] additions were a misunderstanding of the edit of User:Kwamikagami, thinking these did not match the IPA. I have removed my [sic] additions but not the [sic] additions of User:Kwamikagami. Alexlatham96 (talk) 00:41, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ɨ is rounded, and ʉ unrounded -- the exact opposite of the IPA. I suspect that is an error in the source and that the vowels are intended to be used with the reversed values. I meant the 'sic' to clarify that it's not our error. — kwami (talk) 22:19, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
