Fork?
[edit]Is this the same topic as Gavali (caste)?--Kotniski (talk) 08:02, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- Gawali was somewhat of an unreferenced fork on a sub-group thereof, so I've merged the two articles. I'll also redirect as many alternate spellings as I can to this article to head off future forks. I'm not at this point seeing anything to block having an overall article on this cowherding/dairy caste, though clearly they do vary region-to-region, but we don't yet have enough content to break regional groups out to their own pages. - OK, thanks; it seemed to me to be the same topic, though I'm no expert on the matter. Cheers,--Kotniski (talk) 20:43, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Most common spelling?
[edit]I'm running some gBooks searches under "gawli caste", "goalla caste", etc. It appears that "Goalla" is one of the most common terms, though "goala caste" also gets a lot of hits, but I'm not 100% sure they're the same thing. Any ideas?
Hanabar (Gavli)
[edit]Hanabar are mostly in belgaum, kolhapur, nipani and in hukkeri. Hanabar is sub caste of (Yadav/Gavli). And popularly known as golla/hanabar in karnataka. 2405:204:5406:3E9F:0:0:193E:E0B0 (talk) 12:20, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
