Protected Article

That's great that the article has been protected, except that it's been protected after disruptive changes were made, largely without sources, and questionable conflict of interests. Any chance that revision could be reverted? Noone123456 (talk) 08:44, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

One such change that is incorrect is the outrageous mention that Gavin Wheeldon founded thebigword when in fact it was founded by Larry Gould. Gavin merely worked for thebigword. Please can this be changed ASAP? Lexicon456 (talk) 15:37, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

This article uses questionable sources and much of the earlier, factually supported content, has been deleted. Please allow edit access to ensure all information on this page is both factually accurate and substantiated. By all means add information that you deem correct but in the interests of freedom of speech and information, allow others to do the same.

Company section

Another case of a bio created because of "controversy" with the company? That whole section is WP:UNDUE at best, and it belongs in the article about the company, assuming it existed. I'm going to delete it, and we can discuss here if someone objects. I note there's a COI issue, but if the subject edited the article to remove criticisms that's just coincidental to the fact that they are inappropriate anyway. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:43, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

No, I don't. But it might be argued that the company and/or the scandal is. Perhaps a move is indicated instead? Leave the redirect behind and a bit of editing to focus off the bio. But I'm not sure if it would be the scandal or the company. Do you feel there's enough coverage to get it past WP:NOT#NEWS? Frankly I haven't researched it, but I'll have some time later tonight if you're not sure. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:57, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
A move/redirect to Applied Language Solutions may be in order. The company itself appears to have more direct secondary sources than he does. I don't have the time to make the move myself right now, but if you do, and if you agree, please do be WP:BOLD. Thank you. Qworty (talk) 23:38, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
I asked Constablequackers (talk · contribs) if they would be OK with the move, since they're the other main contributor. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:18, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
I don't know how familiar you guys are with Mr Wheeldon or the controversies he's helped create in the UK over the past few years. He was at the center of ALS' problems with the Ministry of Justice in 2012. Plus, he's appeared on a few popular British television shows like Dragon's Den. I think there's enough sources out there to warrant an article about him. Whether or not this current version is up to snuff, well, that's open to debate. Feel free to suggest possible additions/removals. There's definitely more than enough material for an article devoted to ALS. My vote = keep Wheeldon's article with additional revisions, if necessary, and possibly create a secondary one for ALS. Constablequackers (talk) 15:25, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
OK so, if it's your opinion that it would survive an AFD then can we keep the bulk of the criticism limited to the hypothetical article about the company? Our concern here is simply WP:UNDUE, we're not even bothered by the subject's notability (albeit lack of that is a quick way to resolve BLP issues!). §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:55, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
As for WP:UNDUE, I think a good chunk of Wheeldon's article should be devoted to the scandal. It's what he's become mostly known for, aside from his TV appearances. To use an analogy, not addressing it would be like ignoring the Gunpowder Plot in an article about Guy Fawkes or Watergate in an article about Richard Nixon. Sorry to make things complicated but the gent's name has kinda become synonymous with the negative effects of spending cuts in the UK gov. Constablequackers (talk) 10:06, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Interesting article
