Headquarters in Fairport, New York

[edit]

This is probably splitting hairs. But the company's official mailing address is Fairport, New York. This was recently deleted because it is not physically located. Fairport is located within the town of Perinton, New York. It's confusing on the article not including Fairport since that's where its official address is.Americasroof (talk) 02:20, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Name Change

[edit]

The former GateHouse's emergence from bankruptcy as New Media Investment Group, Inc. necessitates a name change from GateHouse Media to New Media Investment Group.Michealin (talk) 20:55, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Owned by Japanese company Softbank

[edit]

Why not add that this company was purchased in February 2017 by the Tokyo-based Japanese company SoftBank? 173.88.241.33 (talk) 01:29, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a reference for this? The article mentions GateHouse's relationship with Fortress (which is the company owned by Softbank), and the New Media Investment Group, Inc. merger/rebranding, what further information is missing? - Adolphus79 (talk) 04:13, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New Media Investment Group

[edit]

I'm finding this page confusing. Is the company now called New Media Investment Group or GateHouse Media? Either way this page needs a deal of clarification. Pbruce1110 (talk) 13:45, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

request edit BridgeTower Media

[edit]

BridgeTower Media mentions currently bring you to the GateHouse Media wiki page, they aren't the same brand though. BridgeTower should be a page separate from GateHouse. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Buchi9192 (talkcontribs) 20:44, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article evaluation for student project

[edit]

Hi all, I just completed an evaluation of this article for a Wiki Education exercise required for my graduate school course.

My main takeaway is that this article could use some academic analysis that provides some context around the relevance of GateHouse Media and its impact on the U.S. media ecosystem. Because the company has been fiercely criticized for its business practices and this is not reflected in the article, I worry that a reader without prior knowledge of the company would be given incomplete information about its cultural relevance. The old GateHouse Media website link also doesn't work.
