This article has no section on the proposed gas tax holiday by the Democrats in 2006 Or the state gas tax holiday that Obama supported in Illinios when he was a state senator. Are you going to include this in this article or is their a reason not too? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr.Senecal (talkcontribs) 05:02, 21 May 2008

Feel free, by all means, those sound most applicable here. Just ensure any content you add is verifiable, reliably sourced, and from a neutral point of view. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 18:05, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The second paragraph of the criticism section is very misleading. While I suppose he is not an economist by profession (rather an economics professor), it clearly indicates that support exists within academia somewhere for this proposal. It is also, of course, uncited. I suggest that it be deleted or editted to be less misleading. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.4.31.213 (talk) 07:55, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The statement that claiming that the gas tax holiday is opposed by the "vast majority of economists" provides a source that does not back this claim. It merely provide examples of economists who oppose without any statistical data regarding its support. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.4.31.213 (talk) 08:01, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nominated for deletion

[edit]

I nominated this article for deletion because of the lack of interest in making the article current and because of Wikipedia policy against news reports as articles (see WP:NOTNEWS). Thatoneguy89 (talk) 00:53, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Umbralcorax has removed my delete tag because he feels there needs to be more discussion about the issue. Alright, is there anyone who objects to having this article deleted and if so why? Please bring your discussion to this page. Thatoneguy89 (talk) 01:39, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
