A different approach

[edit]

I'm of the mind that in order for this BLP to meet GNG without being promotional, editors should focus on the subject, not the nonprofits or the associated causes. As it sits now, it appears too much like an advocacy promoting a cause rather than a WP:BLP. The article needs statements of fact that are cited to WP:RS in order to establish the subject's notability per WP:N and/or WP:GNG. While researching for more biographical information on the subject, I found the following sources: PR Newswire, NCRI, Dark Daily, Christianity Today, United Nations World Citizen Award, The Frontier and Holt County Independent, 435 Magazine, and on and on. He passes GNG but the article needs work. What do you think, Drmies? Atsme✍🏻📧 02:25, 7 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well the problem is that (and that's what I noticed too) none of those can qualify as secondary, reliable, independent sources--I mean, PR Newswire is a sort of a clearinghouse for press releases, NCR-Iran is the website of an advocacy group, Dark Daily seems to be an outfit that publishes white papers. None of them, none that I can see, would qualify according to WP:RS, so I'm not convinced he's notable. The Holt Independent--that's a local thing, and all it has is a photo and a caption, no in-depth discussion/biography/etc. And it's the same with his charity--I thought maybe the one would be notable so that the other could be a redirect, but I can't make the case for notability for either one.
