[edit]HEY! I just saw the message about proposing that this article be deleted. I think that Gary Hogeboom's article belongs in Wikipedia, for the simple reason that he was both a starting QB in the NFL, and also a contestant on the top-rated reality show.
I haven't done a precise count, but there are dozens of articles for individual Survivor contestants, and almost none of them have any claim to fame other than being on Survivor. Plus, there are countless articles about fictional characters (!) in popular TV shows. Doesn't a real guy with an interesting dual career in sports/entertainment deserve as much attention as imaginary characters who appear on two episodes of Seinfeld or The Simpsons?
After a quick glance at a few NFL articles, it appears to me that about half of all active players have their own articles, along with a large number of retired players who did not have particularly stellar careers. I'm sure I could make a list of hundreds of players with careers no more distinguished than Hogeboom's who have their own articles.
So Hogeboom at least has a reasonable case to be included for either his football career or his Survivor appearance. When both are considered, he should be a shoo-in! JDK77590 05:20, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
