Endorsement page?
[edit]This whole article reads like an endorsement of the Gary airport to become the official "third regional airport" for Chicago. Much of it is POV, in my opinion. 208.185.126.152 21:33, 8 November 2007 (UTC)Brad Housman 11/08/07
July 1 start date for vivaAerobus
[edit]Where did this info come from? I can find nothing in any article about the selection of GYY for service that references July 1. Could we get a cite for this date, please? -steventity (talk) 06:00, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- in fact, this article: [1] makes it sound like Gary will pretty definitely not start on July 1:
- "The documents filed with the Department of Transportation state that the airline expects to begin offering service to the U.S. by the first week of July; however, that timeline would be delayed in Gary while the airport constructs a customs office to service international flights.
- Airport Director Chris Curry said the airport has two locations in mind for the office, with a price tag of about $3.5 million for construction.
- vivaAerobus told Curry it is not breaking off negotiations with the Rockford airport, keeping the heat on the airport to come up with the cash for the facility. Curry said he hopes to have the customs facility completed and service to Mexico started by late August or early September." -steventity (talk) 06:58, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- as does this one: [2]: "VivaAerobus wants to start flying to Gary from Monterey, Mexico, as early as August." -steventity (talk) 07:05, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

- Anything more substantial than a board posting? From all of the press I've read, it sounds like July 1 is the date they filed for, but at GYY it'd be an impossibility. -steventity (talk) 18:27, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- We'll just keep it as July 1 for now and when theres more info we'll change then. It does say pending gov't approval, which should indicate that it may not start 7-1-08. Sox23 23:26, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
