Screenings

[edit]

I've removed the screening sections (in multiple edits to avoid edit conflicts, sorry!). There may be some sources which need to be rescued, those will be in the history. Anyone can revert if they like, but detailed listings of screenings aren't usually added for films. Protonk (talk) 15:19, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bare refs

[edit]

If someone could use one of the automated tools, such as reflinks of reftool , these would probably be fixed. I would do it but I am prohibited for the time being.

cleanup, rm notice at top

[edit]

After watching the WikiCon 2015 Keynote by AfroCROWD founder Alice Backer, I decided to clean up this article. Got through about 3/4 of the citations, and hope to finish cleaning them up in the next day or so. I was able to add a bunch of citations and felt that by removing some of the less encyclopedic / press release-y stuff, and quotes, that the article is at a nice solid starting point. It could use additional citations but I haven't combed through [1] or [2] or the Press Kits available on the film's website -- or even did a google search. Honestly there seems to be a lot of press and legit coverage of the film. So the notability issue -- and the decidedly problematic / annoying Wikipedia:Articles for creation nightmare is hopefully resolved. Very glad that the notability was a non-issue, as this is a great subject that shows initiative to support diversity on Wikipedia. /rant :-) -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 08:34, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@BrillLyle: Thank you so much! That is precisely why 3-4 of us were racing to find and undelete it at WikiCon. Very glad that it got more than the brief superficial cleanup from all of us that were there. Keep up the great work! Sadads (talk) 13:14, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Sadads: Thank you! I'm so glad. All of this coordinated effort is why Wikipedia is an amazing community! I emailed with Teo from BeingGarifuna.com -- the original author of the article. He asked me to convey his Bandi / Saragu Seremein ("Many Thanks" in the Garifuna Language) to all who assisted in the efforts to rescue the page and make it better. I spoke with him about editathons and encouraged him to possibly give Wikipedia another try. Again thanks to everyone! -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 03:18, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
