to really be honest, Gargantuavis philoinos should've been a modern bird than a primitive one

I mean, it has features it shares with modern birds, such as having a beak, having a tail of feathers, lacking hands (which can be only found on primitive birds). seriously though. having a bird with modern features but placing it outside of the modern bird group is stupid. it's like how we treated Vegavis iaai as a primitive bird at one point but it's now classified as a modern bird.

Gargantuavis philoinos also has a similar look to Asteriornis maastrichtensis. like Asteriornis, it walked similarly to it, except that Asteriornis maastrichtensis probably had the ability to fly, and Gargantuavis philoinos didn't.
