Notability

For the editor questioning the notability of the subject (from WP:BAND):

  • Criterion #1: "Has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable." [1][2]
  • Criterion #6: "Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles." Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome are notable on their own.
  • Criterion #10: "Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc." [3][4] (though it's perfectly sufficient to cite the show itself with {{cite episode}})

Any one of those is enough. If you still have an issue, I suggest taking it to WP:AFD. Kafziel Complaint Department 06:44, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Slightly more than a stub, not quite an article

This is one of those articles on a topic that while notable, doesn't have enough independent, reliable sources available to bring it to the status of an article. I did some quick cleanup. The {{cite episode}} suggestion above would be helpful, as would incorporating the bust.com article linked above. The links to videos as sources appears a bit spammy/promotional, but I don't think it too much of a problem.

I think it would also help to include dates of mentioned events, if it is available, to create a better timeline (eg when did they meet, when did they form the duo, etc). --Ronz (talk) 02:53, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

The women appeared on tonight's The Nerdist TV show on BBC America, the "A Tribute to Nerd Girls" special. They discussed Art Garfunkel and John Oates regarding their performing name and performed a song called "29-31". Truly hysterical. I don't know if any of the episode will show up on the Nerdist Channel or not, but check back: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL48AD91A4828E251D&feature=plcp. History section needs updated

I don't know how to write code, so could someone add the 2016 theatrical animated film "Nerdland" to the article? The female leads were voiced by the pair which make it unique in that it is the only example a cartoon being voice by the Garfunkel and Oates team rather then Kate or Riki individually. A primary source is Variety, 4/14/16 about the film in general, and Animation Magazine, 5/31/16 that mentions Garfunkel and Oates appearance (as does Kate and Riki's IMDB pages.) Also, their VIMEO special "Garfunkel and Oates Trying to Be Special," which the team produced and starred in, should also be mentioned. A source for it is Entertainment Weekly.com 4/13/16.
