This mountain appears on Ordnance Survey Ireland maps as Galtymore Mountain. A Google search yields about 11,100 results for Galtymore and about 1,200 results for Galteemore. Timeineurope 12:05, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And about 259 for "Galtymore Mountain", the proposed title. This is clearly not the most common name. Irish mountains are notoriously variable in their spellings, and in a case like this where the OSi is so clearly outnumbered, I don't think the move would be wise. There is room for discussion between "Galtymore" and "Galteemore", but "Galtymore Mountain" can be ruled out. --Stemonitis 16:56, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well just as reference. Briticana uses the "Galtymore Mountain" spelling. I personally think we should use that spelling. --Tλε Rαnδom Eδιτor (tαlk) 19:10, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If that's correct, then a move to Galtymore rather than "Galtymore Mountain" seems reasonable. The latter seems a rather artificial construction. zoney talk 14:09, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been renamed from Galteemore to Galtymore as the result of a move request. --Stemonitis 13:40, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Overhauled

[edit]

Overhauled this article (as per MacGillycuddy's Reeks, Purple Mountain and Brandon Mountain articles). Have merged the Galtee Mountains article with Galtymore. Most of the topics, geology, naming, hill walking etc. are the same for both. Ensure that we have at least one substantive article on the Galtees that has a better chance of being maintained in the future (the individual articles were more like stubs). Gave a full list of the 24 peaks with key details. Britishfinance (talk) 14:40, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
