Hindu Gakhars
[edit]W00Wesp97 Thanks for edits. Could you add a source about Gakkhars being Muslim in Pakistan and Hindu in India?
Also, I used "tribe" because that's what the source says; do other sources use "clan"?

- Editors
- This is a fictitious article and in fact complete distortion of history. Gal hats are not a tribe indigenous to united Hindustan and have Persian roots. This is not a rajput clan. Please remove Jati from the article. 103.137.24.64 (talk) 21:36, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
- Note: Gal hats is a typo. Meant Gakhars… 103.137.24.64 (talk) 21:49, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
Fredlesaltique: https://www.linkedin.com/pub/dir/+/Gakhar lists 1400+ profiles in India. The names are predominantly of hindu origin. Social media also search also matches this. The claim about Gakhars being muslim in Pakistan is inherited from older version. I can add a social media search url as reference.
Clans are by descent whether actual or claimed. Tribes are loose associations. Gakhar are clans, and not tribes. Academic sources use clan. See Tyagi-Martial races of undivided India (page 215, available on google books), or "Abu'l-Fazl 'Allami, Akbar-nama"..

@W00Wesp97: Hey thanks for editing! I don't think we should use a LinkedIn search as a source- the Wikipedia guidelines are pretty clear about using published, secondary sources (WP:SOURCES).
I would definitely add in the book citation though, and you're right it does say clan.

Want to add more about Gakhar history. Their war against the Suris, Muqarrab Khan Gakhar's reign. Them repelling the Mongols. Gakhar's in Ghaznavid Era. Raja725828 (talk) 13:26, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. — Paper9oll (🔔 • 📝) 13:35, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
