Aspect ratio
[edit]ISRO_Orbital_Vehicle.jpg has wrong aspect ratio. The image should be wider. 67.194.195.186 (talk) 06:09, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
Total pressurized volume?
[edit]If anybody has a number (with reliable source) for the total pressurized volume of the ISRO Orbital Vehicle, it would be fabulous if you add it to the article! --Tony Mach (talk) 14:46, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

The request to rename this article to Gaganyaan has been carried out. |
ISRO Orbital Vehicle → Gaganyaan – See many sources (https://www.google.co.in/search?q=Gaganyaan&rlz=1C5CHFA_enIN797IN797&oq=Gaganyaan&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i61&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8). Indian Prime Minister has announced the name. Jay ❯❯❯ Talk 14:09, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hello. Yes, the news sources are clear this is ISRO's orbital vehicle. This is a non-controversial move. This article can be named simply "Gaganyaan", when compared with other orbital vehicles such as Dragon, Dragon 2, Orion, Shenzhou, Soyuz, etc. Cheers, Rowan Forest (talk) 16:28, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
- Rowan Forest Thanks, I have made the change.-- Jay ❯❯❯ Talk 17:06, 15 August 2018 (UTC)

Article should be renamed to ISRO Orbital Vehicle
[edit]Article talks about the a particular vehicle not a mission. Gaganyaan is the name of one mission planned for 2022 or before. Either a new article Gaganyaan should be created OR ISRO Orbital Vehicle development sections should be moved to the Indian Human Spaceflight Programme article. For example, Chandrayaan was a mission which used 11 payloads. Gaganyaan will be a mission which will carry one payload called ISRO orbital vehicle. Gaganyaan article should start with launch, operation and ending of the Gaganyaan mission and little about what other missions such as Re-entry test. Reentry test should be part of ISRO orbital vehicle or Indian Human Spaceflight Programme article. (Posted by user:Knowshare1)
- oppose, Gaganyaan is not a mission. Gagan means sky and yaan means craft — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayprakash12345 (talk • contribs) 08:18, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose, the article is about the Gaganyaan spacecraft, named so by ISRO. Whenever it is sent on a mission(s) we will write about its flight and its outcomes. Cheers, Rowan Forest (talk) 15:55, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
- Support, Article is about the vehicle. Same orbital vehicle will be used in the TestFlight 01 and TestFlight 02, along with for Gaganyaan(mission). So, naming the article Gaganyaan is wrong, which is a mission name. There can be multiple orbital vehicle, but only one Gaganyaan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Knowshare1 (talk • contribs) 06:04, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
- Comment: The official page for Gaganyaan clearly states: "Gaganyaan (Orbital Vehicle) is an Indian crewed orbital spacecraft intended to be the basis of the Indian Human Spaceflight Programme." It does not say Gaganyaan is "a mission" but "a spacecraft". Are we done yet? Cheers, Rowan Forest (talk) 00:35, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
Soyuz-shaped capsule
[edit]An IP just deleted all mention to the Russian collaboration except for astronaut training. That is not OK, as Russia's assistance has been going on for decades, and its assistance does not diminish ISRO's achievements. Also, stating that Gaganyaan shows a "Soyuz shape" does not mean nor suggest it is a derivative of Soyuz, but while lacking pictures, it is what best describes its shape -per the sources quoted. Reuse
[edit]Is there a reliable source indicating whether the capsule is intended to be reusable? The article would also be improved by mentioning the service module is detached and expended and prior to re-entry. (— 𝐬𝐝𝐒𝐝𝐬 — - talk) 22:03, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
Separate page
[edit]hello, just a doubt, does anyone else think that the testing and development has gotten a bit more detail oriented? I think a seperate page could be made for it as well as including some test launches.
Like a page titled Development of Gaganyaan and saying things like how it was made and how it was tested before it's flights.
can I have others opinion on this? Thanks RΔ𝚉🌑R-𝕏 (talk) 15:50, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
