[edit]This page was, and is (at time of editing) in need of serious revision and expansion. Primarily, the two following questions remain completely un-addressed: "What is the evolutionary origin of gag-onc proteins?" and "What is the molecular mechanism by which they are or have been produced?" It is still under the designation of stub, due to the lack of context and the inherent difficulty in separating virology topics and oncogene topics. Any help is much appreciated. Update: The page seems to be getting better, but the section addressing the two previous questions has not yet been included. There are a few images/diagrams under copyright within a genetics textbook that seem particularly relevant, but it's not clear to me how one might use them responsibly in this context. Any advice is much appreciated. Stevia badger (talk) 02:52, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
