Villarreal have announced they have reached agreement in principle with Arsenal for the sale of the centre-back Gabriel Paulista, with the Arsenal forward Joel Campbell heading to the Spanish club on loan for the rest of the season. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.246.119.131 (talk) 23:52, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
- Read what has been written above. Nothing confirmed by Arsenal and no contract signed. Only fee has been agreed but a lot is left. QED237 (talk) 00:54, 25 January 2015 (UTC)

Gabriel (footballer) → Gabriel Paulista – The page was moved without discussion. The player is known by the single name "Gabriel", but to call him "Gabriel Paulista" is not rare at all, it is on his Twitter. There is a lot of reliable sources that call him Gabriel Paulista. The addition "Paulista" is a Brazilian custom, in which players with a common first name are separated by their place of origin, the most famous is of Juninho Paulista and Juninho Pernambucano. It is disputable that Gabriel Paulista is the most notable Brazilian footballer with the mononym Gabriel: the striker whose full name is Gabriel Barbosa is known solely by his first name and was chosen for the Copa América while the defender Gabriel Paulista was not. See here a variety of reliable sources that refer to Barbosa solely as Gabriel because he was the only Gabriel in the Brazil team. Certainly, at least in this point in time, Gabriel Paulista is not the leading footballer who plays under the name Gabriel, nor is it rare to call him Gabriel Paulista '''tAD''' (talk) 15:31, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
- Support - he is more known as Gabriel Paulista and not Gabriel. Besides, NATURAL comes into play. ✉cookiemonster✉ 𝚨755𝛀 18:57, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
