Box Office numbers
[edit]I know the Turner web page says this was a hit but I've got two well researched print sources which disagree:
- Black, Gregory D. Hollywood Censored: Morality Codes, Catholics, and the Movies. Cambridge University Press 1996 ISBN 0-521-56592-8 (pg. 144)
- Doherty, Thomas Patrick. Pre-Code Hollywood: Sex, Immorality, and Insurrection in American Cinema 1930-1934. New York: Columbia University Press 1999. ISBN 0-231-11094-4 (pg. 75)

Monomaniac fascist references
[edit]There are twenty references that this movie was about a fascist-like takeover of the US government by a president. A better balance could be achieved with an additional line "Measures such as these can be found in the Lincoln administration."[1]
The article fails to emphasize the prophetic nature of this 1933 movie. Not just that is poses a requisite socio-political solution to the anger and deep wounds of the populus which existed in 1933, but also that aircraft would make battleships without aircraft protection obsolete.[2]

Garbled text
[edit]Halfway through the Plot section something goes wrong with the text. As if it was copied by a primitive OCR. Sajita (talk) 13:56, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
