GTO → GTO (disambiguation) – GTO should be a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to Geosynchronous transfer orbit as the primary topic for this acronym. Other popular topics on this page such as Pontiac GTO are only partial-title matches, so have lesser standing than the orbit. — JFG talk 21:32, 1 October 2016 (UTC)
- Why could geosynchronous transfer orbit be the primary redirect here? It doesn't seem especially prominent. I get a manga and the Pontiac before any result for it on Google, and it appears the cars are very commonly known as just GTO. Nohomersryan (talk) 04:24, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose the proposal isn't borne out by the "GTO is" test in Google Books. Golgi tendon organ and gate turn-off thyristor and the Pontiac all three get more hits that the proposed target. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:44, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. After thinking about it, it appears clear that geostationary transfer orbit cannot be the primary topic. Its page views are not higher than other topics with this acronym, and there isn't any evidence of greater long-term significance than some of the others.
