Incorrect Chemical Information
[edit]The chemical structure, molecular formula, and molecular weight given in the info box are incorrect. All are missing a galactose, an N-acetylgalactosamine, and an N-acetylneuraminic acid (Gal, GalNAc, and NeuAc). I'll try to put together the correct information shortly. See the ganglioside page for the proper structure.
- I have updated the image and other information in the infobox using information from the linked ChEBI page. Thanks for catching the problem and reporting it here. -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:09, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
In this section, someone added that the reason for "2" refers to its order of discovery. In GM3, it cites an article I can't access as the numbering being due to their relative motility (which is reasonable too, given the size is GM1>2>3) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2002:8CE2:6C0F:0:0:0:8CE2:6C0F (talk) 20:35, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
