Title correction
[edit]Usually acronyms are explained in the lead phrase of the article. If this correction is made, the task simply involves creating a new article, and then pasting the full wikitext. The acronym may be used be used, if it is made all upper case, as a WP:redirect. — CpiralCpiral 20:18, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Quality/completeness of article
[edit]Overall I find this article to be very wordy, high on gobbledeegook, and lacking in substance.
Examples:
The lead in, quote "GLOBE facilitates high level negotiated policy positions from leading legislators from across the major economies parliaments and from regional dialogues". OK, why GLOBE? Under what legislative framework does GLOBE exist? How does one become a member of GLOBE? Is this an official organisation in the sense that the UN is? See next.
We're told GLOBE formed in 1989 and yet the history section starts "Since 2005 and following the invitation of the former UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, GLOBE has brought together one hundred legislators...". It never tells me how or why GLOBE formed. And what happened between 1989 and 2005? Nothing apparently. This is not a history section.
Role in Climate Change debate. Climate change is a significant topic and GLOBE as an environmentally focussed group are very active on that front, it's even listed along with environment as their primary focus/purpose in the summary box. Within this article the words "climate change" appear once and no where is GLOBEs role or stance elaborated.
"climate and energy security" features prominently, what is that? We can secure the climate? *confused* Gobbledeegook.
Where does GLOBEs funding come from?
Where's the "Controversy" section?
