Redshift
[edit]The paper by Naidu, Rohan P.; et al. (July 2022) shows that it is the galaxy with the second highest redshift currently known after HD1 (see figure 3). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:871:218:D641:B8C2:DF1B:ED14:C0AC (talk) 11:57, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
- In addition, it's not the "oldest galaxy" yet, it is a candidate galaxy at a redshift of around z = 13. DRJRcnet (talk) 04:53, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
Renamed to GLASS-z12 after distance revision
[edit]Naidu et al. now call this galaxy "GLASS-z12" in their updated arXiv preprint and press releases. (https://arxiv.org/abs/2207.09434 and https://phys.org/news/2022-11-farthest-galaxy-candidate-james-webb.html) Nrco0e (talk) 06:04, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
Renamed to GLASS-z13
[edit]now call this galaxy "GLASS-z13" in their updated arXiv preprint and press releases.
now call this galaxy "GLASS-z13" in their updated press releases. 171.61.157.92 (talk) 04:21, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- NOTE: Restored undiscussed ip edits to earlier GLASS-z12 version - seems better after all based on references. - in any case - Stay Safe and Healthy !! - Drbogdan (talk) 15:13, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- This galaxy has already been published as "GLASS-z12" in ApJL. There's no changing that. Please do not use "GLASS-z13" anymore. Always follow the published scientific papers, not the earlier arXiv drafts and especially never follow the media. Nrco0e (talk) 16:58, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
