[edit]It says that "Nelson finally understands why his father left". But, I was under the impression that he said that as a way to abandon Sherri and Terri.- B-101 15:29, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
Otto
[edit]Otto appears to die in this episode by jumping of a cliff while trying to glide. Worth a mention? Jimmmmmmmmm 19:12, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- No, as not part of Canon. And he appears further into the future than this is set, in Lisa's Wedding.--TimothyJacobson (talk) 03:01, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Cultural references
[edit]In my opinion the police in this episode have same kind of suits as robocop without his helm. Worth mentioning?
They're definitely Robocops, I'm more curious about a subtler reference, when the characters enter the Prom the song "Take On Me" By a-ha is playing, which is also to song playing as characters enter the prom in the film "Grosse Pointe Blank" AKLR 10:48, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Song not mentioned
[edit]One song that's not mentioned here is the song played when Bart and Homer's in the hover car. The song is I.G.Y (International Geophysical Year) by Donald Fagen from the album The Nightfly. I really think that should be mentioned here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.255.151.28 (talk) 01:28, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
What's the song?
[edit]Taken from Ralph Wiggum:
"Future-Drama": Ralph has a brief cameo during his high school prom, in which he claims he can use the toilet. Although he is only briefly featured, he appears to be an older version of his younger self here complete with non-sequitur. Ralph becomes inadvertently intoxicated when Nelson Muntz spikes the punch, leading to humorous hallucinations.
When he drinked it, a "hippie" song started playing. The same song can be found in many episodes of The Simpsons. What is the name of it and maybe worth mentioning?
In my opinion the song sounds like Incence and peppermints by Strawberry alarm clock. It can also be heard in the episodes D'oh-in in the Wind and Weekend at Burnsie's.
Yeah, you're right. I listened to the song myself. Holiday56 (talk) 04:30, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah it's a MIDI rendition of "Incence and peppermints" by Strawberry alarm clock, which is considerd iconic for the late 60s counter culture. Since it's a very brief moment, and does'nt contribute to the plot, it's not really worth mentioning in the main article. Though I'm sure anyone who's interested will check here too. Clarification
[edit]"Bart is in love with a blonde girl, Jenda (normally a diminutive of a male name)."
What is Jenda diminutive of? I'm taking that out of there anyway because it's UTTERLY IRRELEVANT. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.167.136.139 (talk) 08:09, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Canon or not?
[edit]Are "predicting the future" episodes of The Simpsons considered canon or not? --Fiffy032 14:26, 14 December 2008 (Eastern Time (US and Canada) GMT)
No, as they contradict each other--TimothyJacobson (talk) 02:58, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Future Prediction
[edit]Hasn't anyone noticed the similarity between Cletus being the Vice-President in this episode, and what could have happened, which is that Sarah Palin (considered by many a real-life Cletus) becoming the Vice-President? (24 States voted for her). I mean, not in Wikipedia, but mentioned on other sites. 58.108.233.162 (talk) 03:28, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Think it's a coincidence. When this ep first came out, Palin hadn't stepped forward as a nominee--TimothyJacobson (talk) 02:58, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Removal of Cult ref
[edit]I'm going to remove a lot from the opening paragraphs as it is repeated in more detail in Cultural Ref section--TimothyJacobson (talk) 02:58, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Bender
[edit]Does Bender have any dialogue in this episode? I didn't think he did, but Joe DiMaggio is listed on the wiki page as providing his voice--TimothyJacobson (talk) 03:01, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
He did, when he first appears, he says something to the effect of, "You guys will be my new best friends." Homer replies with something like, "Like Hell!" and throws him out of the car. mpbx (talk) 03:54, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Wait, I found it here: http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/The_Simpsons#Future-Drama_.5B16.15.5D
(After Bart and Homer pass through a quantum tunnel during their hovercar ride) Bender: All right! You guys are my new best friends! Homer: You wish, loser! [dumps Bender off the flying car making him crash into pieces]

Planet of the Apes
[edit]There was a banner "Give apes the vote. You won't regret it". Sounds like a parody prequel to Planet of the Apes.

Milhouse
[edit]stuck between the trees in the end is a reference to the famous greek wrestler Milon (Son of Diotymos), who perished after that kind of a mishap. --77.188.34.234 (talk) 00:02, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
