Second sentence contradicts itself

The first and second sentences are as follows:

"While residing in London, England, between 1871 and 1872, Gounod started to write a suite for piano called Suite burlesque. After completing this piece, Gounod abandoned the rest of the suite."

If he abandoned what he was writing, then he didn't "complete" the piece.

Alternatively, "Suite burlesque" does not refer to the piece that was completed.

Either way, the writing makes no sense. I hope someone knowledgeable about the subject who is also able to write coherently can fix this.98.255.224.144 (talk) 05:53, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I understood it to mean that he decided not to publish the remaining pieces. He suppressed or repudiated them. A lot of composers write stuff and then decide they're not up to the desired standard, taking them no further.
