Redirects
[edit]For reasons that are not obvious to me, someone created a redirect from Operational analysis to Functional analysis (psychology). I have changed this redirect to Operations Research. The reasons for this change are as follows:
- There is no mention of operational analysis in the Functional analysis (psychology) article.
- Operational analysis is the name used in the defence sphere in the UK for military operations research.
- It is confusing when Operational Analysis is a redirect that leads to one place and Operational analysis is a redirect that leads somewhere else. The wikipedia software has to guess what to do when faced by operational analysis.
If operational analysis is a term related to Functional analysis (psychology), then we need a disambiguation page.--Toddy1 (talk) 10:06, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Citations
[edit]I don't know how this article got written without this citation:
Iwata, Dorsey, Slifer, Bauman, & Richman (1994). Toward a functional analysis of self-injury. Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, 27, 197-209.
But you could use it for the first citation (the one that claims that only functional analysis can reveal function - although I think the authors would qualify that statement somewhat - the function based treatment that followed will really support whether or not the functional analysis correctly revealed function or not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BenjaminSchooley (talk • contribs) 17:34, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
Questionable organization
[edit]See my comments on Talk:Community_Reinforcement_Approach_and_Family_Training#World_Association_for_Behavior_Analysis about the World Association for Behavior Analysis.Sondra.kinsey (talk) 21:09, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
Inaccuracies
[edit]In paragraph 3 of the subheading "Applications in clinical psychology", there is a large overlap of talk of functional assessments in an article focusing on functional analysis. The following articles being used as a source also indicate that the author does not realize the difference, which creates confusion as to the validity of the claims within the section. Recommend either giving a note at the top of the article about this or removing and/or rewriting the section in question. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.210.154.35 (talk) 15:02, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
