Merge
[edit]Absolutely not. Why? Bubba hotep 09:25, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think this article can ever include much information over and above the articles about the two EPs of which this is a reissue. Consider the case of The Three EPs which contains three previous EPs merged onto one album in their original order. Surely reissues aren't notable enough to deserve a whole article to themselves? Similarly, albums which are re-released with bonus tracks don't typically receive a whole new article. Alex valavanis 11:38, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'd agree that maybe !!!Fuck You!!! and Then Some could be merged into !!!Fuck You!!!, but not that the original Overkill (EP) be merged into anything. Just run by me what you propose to merge, I may be getting confused, because you have put a merge tag on the original EP and the original re-issue, but then you are saying this re-re-issue isn't notable enough to have it's own article - the article which you are trying to merge everything into.
- If any merge has to be done, I would say everything would be merged into the original Overkill (EP) article? But then I would say that there is sufficient material on each album that would make merging three separate releases (not simple re-issues of identical material) very messy. Sorry, I may be getting the wrong end of the stick here, and I don't want to argue with you, of all people! Bubba hotep 11:59, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- Ha - no problem mate. If there's enough that can be written about each album independently then I have no problem with all articles remaining. What I had thought of was keeping this article, as was the "final product" of the two EPs. The article would talk about the album as a whole, but would also have substantial sections describing the !!!Fuck You!!! EP which was became tracks 1 to 6, and the Overkill (EP) which became tracks 9 to 12.
- I just figured that most of this article would be repeating stuff from the EP articles otherwise. If you think there's enough information about each to make three decent and distinct articles, then I really don't mind if the merge is canceled! - Alex valavanis 12:51, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- I admit to being a bit biased because of my, erm, fondness for this band (ahem), and a conflict with Wikiproject Metal to a lesser extent, but really I'm looking at this from the point of view of being less complicated as separate articles. I think each of these was re-issued in yet more forms (e.g. !!!Fuck You!!! was re-issued in 1990 with a bonus track!) and merging would confuse me at least, who was confused enough with three separate articles anyway! Let's see if any others have a comment to make. :) Bubba hotep 13:20, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
possibly inapropriate ?
[edit]anyone think this page is inapropriate ?
- Wikipedia is not censored. Dave6 talk 09:38, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- Quoting someone else's policy does not reveal an opinion. And the question was poorly formed. Inappropriate for what? The title and image would seem to be intentionally offensive.
- Even garbage dumps reject toxic waste.
- The "not censored" line is BS. To wit:
- Giving space to an item which was created to be intentionally offensive would seem counter to the spirit of policies cited above.
- Does this band pass the WP:N test? This question has gone unanswered for 2.5 years:
- Maybe the main article for the band, as well as the trash here, should be deleted.
- Does citing the "not censored" line here do anything more than give license to teenagers to "contribute" something to giggle about? -Ac44ck (talk) 17:31, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
