==First Frontenac The article says that the first Frontenac was produced in 1931, however, the Indy website lists Percy Ford placing 3rd in the 1921 race (ten years earlier) driving a Frontenac produced by Frontenac. See: http://www.indy500.com/stats/drivers.php?drivername=Percy%20Ford

The first mass produced Frontenac was produced by Dominion Motors. This article focuses on passneger cars, not race cars. Big difference between the two, as I believe that the organization which created the race car didn't crank them out along an assembly line for production. Perhaps the racing car really deserves its own article. Stude62 16:15, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"Perhaps the racing car really deserves its own article." Definitely. I linked a reference to the Fronty Fords here, hoping that's what I'd get... Trekphiler 11:43, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More information on the Frontenac racecar, which probably should have its own article. The car was based on a Ford Model T chassis and was built by the Chevrolet brothers:

Louis Chevrolet's Contributions to the Frontenac Company

[edit]

The Wikipedia entry for Louis Chevrolet presents his role in the operations of the Frontenac company and racing at the Indy 500. The essortment.com website has a lengthy bio of Louis Chevrolet, highlighting his history with GM, Frontenac, and American Motors, as well as involvement in aircraft and boat building.Art jensen (talk) 16:09, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disambig

[edit]

I rolled back a change by user:Trekphiler that essentially turned this page into a disambiguation page. Although this might be a good idea, the way it was done caused two issues. The main content of the Dominion Motors area and the Ford area lost a good deal of content that is not replicated elsewhere. Secondly, many links to this page are pointed to expect the specific content on this page. It's not appropriate to point from a page to a disambiguation page. The link should be to the final destination. However, in this case that content had been removed. HornColumbia (talk) 21:56, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And all this amounts to is a dab page. Given there's so much content on it, is that really appropriate? Also, "The main content of the Dominion Motors area and the Ford area lost a good deal of content that is not replicated elsewhere."? Really? So this, this, & this doesn't essentially reproduce (or, in the case of Abendroth, actually add) all the "lost" content? (In retrospect, I should have commented here where it went...) I think I may have caught you mid changes. I see the Dominion and Ford Frontenac pages now. I went ahead and added the disambig tag to the page. I also resolved some of the linking issues I was concerned about (see my recent edits). I had the thought that we might even want to move the whole page to the Frontenac page and make an "Automobile" section. However, that might be a six vs half dozen type issue.
