[edit]He lived in Italy, at times. He did not serve as director of the school in Düsseldorf continuously. Years spent in Italy include (approximations):
- 1810 to ? See: Jakob Salomo Bartholdy, at whose palazzo he painted
- 1830 to circa 1836 See: Karl Friedrich Lessing, who directed the school for about 5 or 6 years (1830-36
- 1840 to ?
Improvements to his article should be installed. I have already removed the term "founded" and installed "directed" in its place. He was the second director of the school, not the founder. He improved the school; however, Peter von Cornelius was appointed as the first director by Frederick William III of Prussia. GhostofSuperslum 16:15, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Born date
[edit]In other languages of Wikipedia the born date is 6 September 1789 but I can't find the true date in other sources. --Kizar (talk) 21:00, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
