I saw a claim in the mess that is the hansom, hackney, taxi, and taximeter articles, that the word taxi came from his name. No source is provided, but the claim is his name is expanded to include his blood line? origin? residence? as Friedrich Wilhelm Gustav Bruhn von Thurn und Taxis. I found reference of "royal" Thurn und Taxis being the French to German translation of "de La Tour et Tassis or de Tour et Taxis" (ca 1500) from Ruggiero de Tassis (ca 1440) from Omodeo Tasso (late 1200s). 174.130.71.156 (talk) 23:15, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
