Airlines

[edit]

There are a couple people who have been removing the Seasonal service to Honolulu, Morelia, and Denver without knowing these routes have always been, and always will be, SEASONAL. These people are removing these destinations instead of leaving them as Seasonal. This is blatantly false. Service to Honolulu is only for the summer tourist season. Service to Morelia is only for a few weeks around Christmas. Service to Denver is only for about eight months out of the year, excluding January through April-May. These routes ALWAYS return year after year. I will continue to monitor this page and will continue to undo the false information these people insist on doing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fredin323 (talkcontribs) 17:36, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Fresno Yosemite International Airport. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

I'll be taking this review expect comments soon 1.02 editor (C651 set 217/218) 03:58, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A big cause of concern about this article is the large amount of unsourced text. I have added cn and cn span tags around the article for easier identification, and I ask you to help me spot texts that I've missed out while referencing. Thanks. 1.02 editor (C651 set 217/218) 11:57, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have added the requested references and rewrote sections where citations could not be easily found. There is one citation request I'll push back on...

At the turn of the 21st century, the city began an ambitious series of projects that would expand and completely remodel the airport.

I do not believe a citation is not necessary for that. It's just a summary sentance and the next four paragraphs are spent expanding on that thought. Those paragraphs have citations.
Ok, could you paraphrase the sentence instead as it may be controversial/promotional. 1.02 editor (C651 set 217/218) 02:29, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for taking up this GA review and I look forward to any more suggestions you may have. --RickyCourtney (talk) 20:13, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Detailed

[edit]
  • 'Fresno is the largest... not served by southwest' -the sentence sound like a trivia and is discouraged from articles
  • im not that experienced in aviation articles but con the airlines and destinations section be merged with statistics?
  • Annual passenger traffic -> can it be arranged in chronological order?
  • also, the highway section of transportation sounds like a guide. Could you remove excess details?

Responses

[edit]
  • Ok, could you paraphrase the sentence instead as it may be controversial/promotional.
    • Done.
  • 'Fresno is the largest... not served by southwest' -the sentence sound like a trivia and is discouraged from articles
    • Agreed. Although the fact that the airport is not served by Southwest is a sore point among locals... it does venture heavily into trivia territory.
  • im not that experienced in aviation articles but con the airlines and destinations section be merged with statistics?
  • Annual passenger traffic -> can it be arranged in chronological order?
    • That whole section is poorly sourced and unlike other airports, Fresno does not make annual passenger traffic information easily available. I'm going to go ahead and eliminate that section until I can find more complete data.

--RickyCourtney (talk) 20:10, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • also, the highway section of transportation sounds like a guide. Could you remove excess details?
    • I removed the part that mentions which freeway you take to reach which National Park. Hopefully that's what you meant.

GA concerns

[edit]

I am concerned that this article no longer meets the good article criteria. Some of my concerns are outlined below:

  • There is uncited prose in the article, including several paragraphs in "Airline service"
  • The "Infrastructure" and "Ground transportation and access" sections suffer from MOS:OVERSECTION and should be reformatted.
  • The lead does not summarise all major aspects of the article. I recommend that the lead be expanded to include more information.

Is anyone interested in working on this article, or should this be sent to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 01:07, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will review your concerns. RickyCourtney (talk) 21:33, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Z1720 Could you be more specific about what aspects of the article that you feel the lead does not adequately summarize? That would greatly help me. Thank you. -- RickyCourtney (talk) 22:21, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@RickyCourtney: My general rule of thumb for leads is that every level 2 heading should have some information in the lead. Right now, I can't find any information about future expansion, ground transportation and access, or accidents at the airport. Z1720 (talk) 17:02, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@RickyCourtney: Are you still interested in working on this article? Z1720 (talk) 15:26, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies for the delay. I think I’ve addressed your concerns now. RickyCourtney (talk) 16:15, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
