[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: moved Fresh Horses → Fresh Horses (film). Fresh Horses (album) will not be moved and a disambiguation will be created at Fresh Horses. -- Tavix (talk) 04:49, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
– The Garth Brooks album has more pageviews in recent history (well over 100 a day, vs. ~80 for the film). Furthermore, the album has a much larger number of inbound links, and at least five of the ~50 inbound links intended for the album actually link to the film's page, so I would bet that many of the hits for the Film's page are actually for people looking for the album. Whatever the case, I think it's pretty clear-cut that a multi-platinum album by one of the biggest singers of all time is far more WP:PRIMARYTOPIC than some obscure film. - Oppose 100/80 is not really a significant absolute majority topic with only two candidates. The Andrew McCarthy and Molly Ringwald film seems to meet the 2nd half of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC more than the album, and will be more familiar to a broader audience than country music even if the article is hit slightly less. Plus flipping them over will break links off Wikipedia. Would Support (film) if the base becomes an easy click dab page with Fresh Horses, album by Jim Byrnes (actor) and a "see also" to The Bottle & Fresh Horses album by alternative rock band The Refreshments. - Support. The film got poor reviews and was a commercial flop, and does not meet the second criteria of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, while the album, which went 7x platinum and peaked at #2 on the Billboard 2000, does. I also strongly suspect that the film would not be getting the pageviews it does were it not at the main title. I find the arguments in favor of the Brooks album occupying it much more plausible. - Support second and oppose first, no primary 2601:541:4305:C70:E15E:6967:4541:8423 (talk) 18:34, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
- Support as proposed, per Nohomersryan. SSTflyer 09:54, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
- Support second and oppose first, no primary. Andrewa (talk) 02:48, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- Comment: I am fine with neither subject being the primary topic. Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 06:10, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
