GA review (see here for criteria)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
Footnote on ironcladvs vs corvettes would be good. Suggest adding this to all articles like this.
    Agreed.
Should mention the beginning of the Franco-Prussian War in 1870-1871 in the Service section, as context for moving towards Prussian positions.
    Done.
'In 1875 she rammed and sank the dispatch vessel Forfait' - I'm guessing it was accidental; if so, can this be added to the sentence?
    Done.
Does Rear-Admiral Bonie have a full name that can be wikilinked?
    If I only knew it.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
Rockwell in citations but not Reference section
Rockwell and Ward are both complete cites only used once. I can move them down to refs and change them into short cites if you'd prefer.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 15:33, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what the accepted practice is here. Perhaps best to put them in as short cites? At least it's all consistent that way.Skinny87 (talk) 16:10, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    Done.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

An interesting article; needs a few details and then it can be passed as a GA. Skinny87 (talk) 15:00, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good now, so I'll get promotin'... Skinny87 (talk) 19:19, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
