Will do. L293D ( • ) 02:30, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

First off, I must say what decided to take this article was the truly hilarious image of Hoche after her initial 1895 refit; It looks like the ship has been torpedoed or something, and that it's on the verge of sinking. That it was actually designed like that is beyond me.

Yeah, the French had some odd ideas when it came to ship design in the 19th century.
  • Do you have the reload of the main 13 in guns? If I understand correctly, the trend at the time was for big guns with a huge reload.
    • No, unfortunately - Friedman doesn't have that info, and I couldn't find anything on them in old editions of Brassey's, etc.
  • The 274mm/28 Modèle 1881 gun redlink is duplinked in the infobox.
    • Fixed
  • Do you have the range or the main battery guns?
    • Same as above, unfortunately

That's all I could find. The article is very well detailed for it's time. L293D ( • ) 02:44, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks L293D. Parsecboy (talk) 12:58, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Passing. Parsecboy, would you like me to nominate this article for DYK? I'm thinking of putting the funny image, with a hook such as "that the French ironclad Hoche had such a large superstructure that it was nicknamed "le Grand Hôtel"? Maybe also mention the freeboard. Sure, that'd fine by me. Thanks again! Parsecboy (talk) 15:32, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
