This article is in good shape. A few comments:

  • suggest "Alger was the lead ship of her class of protected cruisers" to avoid using Alger twice, link the Alger-class for "her class"
    • Good idea
  • link cruiser at first mention in the body
    • Done
  • can you work "protected cruiser" into the first para of the Design section?
    • Good idea
  • the body and infobox disagree re the number of TTs
    • Fixed
  • perhaps add that Surcouf was a protected cruiser
    • Done
  • "departing in October 1895 to serve there in 1895"?
    • Ha, I had noticed that when I was fiddling with the articles yesterday, but then couldn't remember what article it was in when I went to fix it.
  • "The ship's activities in the mid-1900s isare unclear"
    • Fixed
  • "Tomas Brassey"
    • Good catch
  • "She was still in service in the region in 1907" what region, and according to whom? Given the confusion, perhaps attribute this in text?
    • Good idea
  • was she hulked in the Far East or back in France?
    • Good question - Conway's doesn't indicate and I wasn't able to track anything down in a contemporary source

Placing on hold for the above to be addressed. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 08:33, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
